PAST EVENTS & DISPLAYS

2006

Thanks to Kent Arts and Libraries, despite the lack of a permanent home, the  Heritage Centre opened in the Library at weekends from April to September.

A full programme of displays was put on in the Library foyer and the photographic archive was available for visitors to view.

The local walks on the Downs were well attended.

In June, Janet Eaton and Jane Bowden gave a talk on "Old Kemsing" using the new projection equipment to show photographs from the archive.

In August, members had a talk on "Village Signs in Kent" which was followed in September with a talk on "The V.A.D. Hospital in St Edith Hall 1914-18" by Janet Eaton and Jane Bowden, once again using archive photographs.

The Heritage Centre hosted an open day in St Edith Hall for National Heritage Weekend, giving guided tours of the building.
